Spectators: 146 (Terracing: 110, Seating: 34, VIP seats: 2) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Hudson de Godoi started the match with the kick off. José Maria da Costa's late challenge caught a E.C 2 Janeiro RS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. José Maria da Costa helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of E.C 2 Janeiro RS booed when LOS PERNAMBUCANOS - FDFDF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Maria da Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Geraldo Eger during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee ignored LOS PERNAMBUCANOS - FDFDF's protests and gave Dráuzio Couto a yellow card for diving instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edvaldo Prado during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 15 played minutes LOS PERNAMBUCANOS - FDFDF got a freekick which was hit by Edvaldo Prado. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Humberto Paes in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cafu Amaral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. During the 23rd minute of the match Geraldo Eger completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Geraldo Eger a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to E.C 2 Janeiro RS getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Geraldo Eger hit a great ball. If Humberto Paes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th match minute, E.C 2 Janeiro RS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tostão Nunes to maneuver through the defense. When LOS PERNAMBUCANOS - FDFDF's Hudson de Godoi in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Telmo Madureira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmílson de Almeida in the 47th minute of play. LOS PERNAMBUCANOS - FDFDF's Edmílson de Almeida was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Telmo Madureira in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Humberto Paes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Telmo Madureira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rémy Peralta in the 61st minute. The audience was convinced that Humberto Paes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cafu Amaral was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Rémy Peralta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Telmo Madureira having to interfere. Telmo Madureira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hudson de Godoi in the 65th minute of the match. Telmo Madureira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hudson de Godoi in the 69th minute. Telmo Madureira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hudson de Godoi in the 70th minute of play. Rémy Peralta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Telmo Madureira made a huge save. In the 74th minute Hudson de Godoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Telmo Madureira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rémy Peralta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Edvaldo Prado came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the LOS PERNAMBUCANOS - FDFDF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edvaldo Prado couldn't finish the play. Telmo Madureira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Maria da Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 89 played minutes, E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Haroldo Sanches shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cafu Amaral came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in E.C 2 Janeiro RS reached it. The E.C 2 Janeiro RS players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
