After 3 minutes, Flávio Netto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Internazionale-RS and the Saiko FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Saiko FC booed when Internazionale-RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flávio Netto didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Jorginho Soares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Saiko FC's Luiz Maciel got a free kick in the 6th minute. 7 minutes into the match, Ronaldinho de Amaral notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Saiko FC's José Maria Velasco. José Maria Velasco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 11th match minute, Saiko FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronaldão Sabóia to maneuver through the defense. Percy Secco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. David Godoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dino de Toledo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. José Maria Velasco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorginho Soares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Internazionale-RS's Jorginho Soares slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of José Maria Velasco. That made the score 2-0 after 24 minutes of play. Saiko FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 27th minute, when Dino de Toledo scored to the left of an out of position José Maria Velasco, making the score, 3-0. David Godoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Percy Secco, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. David Godoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gonçalo Toledo in the 33rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Internazionale-RS's Flávio Netto got a free kick in the 38th minute. Internazionale-RS's Jorginho Soares got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. José Maria Velasco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldinho de Amaral in the 45th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hélder Galvão to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Ronaldinho de Amaral cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. José Maria Velasco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 57 minutes, Walmir Tasso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Saiko FC and the Internazionale-RS players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 58th minute of the match Flávio Netto sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but José Maria Velasco skillfully saved the ball. Saiko FC's José Maria Velasco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dino de Toledo in the 60th minute of play. Albertinho Paraense kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. José Maria Velasco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldinho de Amaral, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. José Maria Velasco didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dino de Toledo went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. José Maria Velasco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorginho Soares in the 74th minute of play. José Maria Velasco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorginho Soares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Albertinho Paraense hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Dino de Toledo scored 6-0 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of José Maria Velasco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 87 minutes into the match, Saiko FC's goal looked a bit too open when Flávio Netto came free, but José Maria Velasco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 88 minutes into the match, Dino de Toledo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of José Maria Velasco. Saiko FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dino de Toledo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. Jorginho Soares struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. José Maria Velasco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Internazionale-RS. In the 96th minute, Jorginho Soares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Internazionale-RS had played much better football throughout.
