In the 2nd minute, Fabinho Fontes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA's Rubinho Perez got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Fabinho Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Nitra FC booed when FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thiago Miranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. João Francisco Barbosa's late challenge caught a Nitra FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Aílton Faria managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nitra FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Aílton Faria was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronaldão Souza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mateus Gomes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Ronaldão Souza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nitra FC's Mané Falcão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Nitra FC from getting a goal against them. Rubinho Perez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Mané Falcão made a huge save. A collision led to Nitra FC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Aílton Faria hit a great ball. Thiago Miranda charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Thiago Miranda the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA's Thiago Miranda got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Rubinho Perez made the kick off in the second half. 59 minutes into the game, Fabinho Fontes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nitra FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA the free kick. Rubinho Perez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mané Falcão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. Thiago Miranda struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Mané Falcão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA. After a rather tough play, Nitra FC's Mateus Gomes got a free kick in the 81st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Rubinho Perez managed to get in a good position for a shot. FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA's supporters rose to their feet, but Rubinho Perez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mané Falcão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Rubinho Perez came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rubinho Perez couldn't finish the play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA fans cheered their team off the field, for while Nitra FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
