An unexpectedly hard shot by Enéas Pontes in the 4th minute of play forced Santo Amaro AC's goalkeeper Eusébio Albuquerque to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th minute Benê Vergílio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulysses Donato saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ulysses Donato took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benê Vergílio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benê Vergílio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Ulysses Donato tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Enéas Pontes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Proteu's supporters rose to their feet, but Enéas Pontes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eusébio Albuquerque breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Jean Arantes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Proteu's Ulysses Donato played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benê Vergílio in the 19th minute of play. A collision led to Santo Amaro AC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Benê Vergílio hit a great ball. Evandro Guedes kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Diguinho Ortiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ulysses Donato showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean Arantes in the 27th minute of the match. In the 29th match minute, Proteu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gugu Tasso to maneuver through the defense. Ulysses Donato took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diguinho Ortiz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Murilo Ferreira during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Proteu's Murilo Ferreira got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Ricardinho Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulysses Donato having to interfere. Qu Wei might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eusébio Albuquerque. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Qu Wei ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as Qu Wei kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Eusébio Albuquerque. That made the score 1-0 in the 39 minute of play. Ricardinho Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Santo Amaro AC's Benê Vergílio got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Diguinho Ortiz to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Vânderson Godoi suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. When Jean Arantes fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Santo Amaro AC's protests and gave Jean Arantes a yellow card for diving instead. Proteu's Antônio Brito was substituted for Vânderson Godoi. In the 52nd match minute, Santo Amaro AC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jean Arantes to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Proteu's Ulysses Donato got control of the ball when Diguinho Ortiz tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Santo Amaro AC's zone, Qu Wei stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eusébio Albuquerque came out of the goal and Qu Wei tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 63rd match minute, Proteu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antônio Brito to maneuver through the defense. Ulysses Donato showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benê Vergílio in the 64th minute of the match. In the 67th minute, Benê Vergílio reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ulysses Donato. The goal made the score 1-1. Proteu's Ulysses Donato proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Proteu from getting a goal against them. Santo Amaro AC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mário Soeiro in the 86th minute. Benê Vergílio struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Ulysses Donato didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santo Amaro AC. Santo Amaro AC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
