The supporters of Jipa RO booed when Morro Grande E.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clóvis Motta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Morro Grande E.C's Willian Loyola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edvaldo Pombal in the 4th minute of play. When Raúl Maia fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Morro Grande E.C's protests and gave Raúl Maia a yellow card for diving instead. In the 6th minute, Raúl Maia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 10th minute, Erik Pontes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th minute Jefferson Tasso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Willian Loyola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Luisinho Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edvaldo Pombal took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Willian Loyola. Willian Loyola dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Dagoberto Trancoso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Duarte in the 24th minute. Raúl Maia was shown his second yellow card after 25 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Raúl Maia didn't get a good kick on the ball. 26 minutes into the game, Thiago Mandrak was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jipa RO's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Morro Grande E.C the free kick. A collision led to Jipa RO getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Thiago Mandrak hit a great ball. After 35 played minutes Morro Grande E.C got a freekick which was hit by Deivid Trevisan. Willian Loyola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aloísio Fernandez, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. When Edvaldo Pombal fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jipa RO's protests and gave Edvaldo Pombal a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in Jipa RO's zone, Cristian Duarte stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dagoberto Trancoso came out of the goal and Cristian Duarte tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edvaldo Pombal to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Duarte in the 54th minute of play forced Jipa RO's goalkeeper Dagoberto Trancoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Cristian Duarte's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dagoberto Trancoso was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. In the 57th minute, Jefferson Tasso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ernani Cearense hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Morro Grande E.C's zone, Thiago Mandrak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Willian Loyola came out of the goal and Thiago Mandrak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 65th minute Jefferson Tasso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Willian Loyola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Willian Loyola made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Edvaldo Pombal sent off a good shot on target. If Cristian Duarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute, Jefferson Tasso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Aloísio Fernandez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jipa RO's supporters rose to their feet, but Aloísio Fernandez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Willian Loyola breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edvaldo Pombal struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Willian Loyola didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jipa RO. 96 minutes into the match, Clóvis Motta notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Jipa RO's Dagoberto Trancoso. Dagoberto Trancoso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jipa RO were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Morro Grande E.C to leave the ground with a draw.
