Alexandre Toledo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 8th match minute, Manaus FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henrique Ramos to maneuver through the defense. César Vinhas kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. 22 minutes into the match, Manaus FC's goal looked a bit too open when César Vinhas came free, but Alexandre Toledo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Sidnei Monteiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Morro Grande E.C's Toninho Caca-Rato proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Morro Grande E.C from getting a goal against them. Alexandre Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from César Vinhas in the 30th minute of the match. Henrique Ramos's late challenge caught a Morro Grande E.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Henrique Ramos helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Morro Grande E.C booed when Manaus FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henrique Ramos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alexandre Toledo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wanderson Mello's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. After 35 minutes of play, Morro Grande E.C's Wanderson Mello made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alexandre Toledo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nicolas Travassos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toninho Caca-Rato having to interfere. After 45 played minutes Morro Grande E.C got a freekick which was hit by Ernani Cearense. In the 47th minute, Erik Gaspar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wanderson Mello stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sidnei Monteiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Murillo Veiga during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Manaus FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 59th minute. Penalty! In the 62nd minute there was a penalty for Morro Grande E.C. Eugênio da Costa stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Alexandre Toledo. 0-3. 65 minutes into the match, Nicolas Travassos notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Morro Grande E.C's Toninho Caca-Rato. Toninho Caca-Rato was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 68 minutes into the match, Erik Gaspar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Toninho Caca-Rato. Morro Grande E.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Erik Gaspar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Nicolas Travassos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Toninho Caca-Rato having to make a save. After 72 played minutes Morro Grande E.C got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Duarte. In the 74th minute, Henrique Ramos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cristian Duarte charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristian Duarte the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Morro Grande E.C getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Cristian Duarte hit a great ball. Toninho Caca-Rato took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolas Travassos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 79 minutes, Sidnei Monteiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manaus FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sidnei Monteiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Sidnei Monteiro came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Manaus FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sidnei Monteiro couldn't finish the play. In the 90th minute Wanderson Mello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandre Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 92 minutes, Wanderson Mello managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Morro Grande E.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wanderson Mello was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sidnei Monteiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toninho Caca-Rato having to interfere. If César Vinhas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Morro Grande E.C were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Manaus FC's much stronger midfield.
