Tadeu Custódio started the match with the kick off. After some careless play in the Marquês de Herval defense, Tadeu Custódio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Juarês de Amaral. The Marquês de Herval fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Juarês de Amaral should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Brasiliense FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Marquês de Herval's Juarês de Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugo Porto in the 17th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Brasiliense FC's Falcão Azevedo got a free kick in the 20th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Brasiliense FC's zone, Bruno Bastos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Narciso Abreu came out of the goal and Bruno Bastos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tadeu Custódio in the 27th minute of play forced Marquês de Herval's goalkeeper Juarês de Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute, Zé Batista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juarês de Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Porto, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. With a little luck, Brasiliense FC's Narciso Abreu got control of the ball when José Carlos Senna tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 33rd match minute, Brasiliense FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo dos Santos to maneuver through the defense. Juarês de Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edinho Fernandez in the 37th minute of play. With his leg Narciso Abreu managed to avoid a goal in the 41stth minute, when Marquês de Herval's Bruno Bastos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. José Carlos Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 50th minute, Tadeu Custódio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 51st match minute, Brasiliense FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel de Carvalho to maneuver through the defense. In the 52nd minute, Bruno Bastos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Juarês de Amaral made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hugo Porto in the 54th minute. When José Carlos Senna came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Marquês de Herval fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Carlos Senna couldn't finish the play. Brasiliense FC's Narciso Abreu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Bastos in the 60th minute of play. Juarês de Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugo Porto in the 61st minute of the match. Geovani Oliveira charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Geovani Oliveira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Brasiliense FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Geovani Oliveira hit a great ball. If Eliseu Braga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juarês de Amaral came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by Brasiliense FC's Hugo Porto. But to his dismay, Hugo Porto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 71st match minute, Marquês de Herval was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Carlos Senna to maneuver through the defense. João Francisco Fernandes hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. 74 minutes in the game, Edinho Fernandez dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Bruno Bastos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narciso Abreu having to interfere. Narciso Abreu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Carlos Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marquês de Herval's Juarês de Amaral proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Marquês de Herval from getting a goal against them. 91 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo Porto came free, but Juarês de Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
