Rodolfo Quirino was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rodolfo Quirino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Dantas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romário Monteiro in the 20th minute of play forced Caatiba MZC's goalkeeper Rodolfo Quirino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 25 played minutes Atlético Minuano got a freekick which was hit by Benedito Sergipano. Joel Dantas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cléber Ribeiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rodolfo Quirino having to make a save. Rodolfo Quirino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Dantas in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 34th minute of the match Atlético Minuano got a corner. Caatiba MZC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gonçalo Tinoco ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well done corner resulted in Sílvio Dantas drilling the ball in to score 0-3 behind Caatiba MZC's goalkeeper. Adrianinho Ortiz's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Marcelo Linares firmly grabbed it by the left post. Cléber Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodolfo Quirino having to interfere. If Eusébio Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Joel Dantas made the kick off in the second half. Joel Dantas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Romário Monteiro kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Benedito Domingues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Caatiba MZC booed when Atlético Minuano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Guimarães didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Joel Dantas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Minuano's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Dantas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodolfo Quirino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 74th minute, Atlético Minuano's Cléber Ribeiro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rodolfo Quirino. Rodolfo Quirino yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. After 86 minutes of play, Caatiba MZC's Adrianinho Ortiz made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcelo Linares was left in no man's land by his defense there! Caatiba MZC's Rodolfo Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cléber Ribeiro in the 89th minute of play. After having played for 91 minutes, Cléber Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Minuano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cléber Ribeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marcelo Linares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrianinho Ortiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Atlético Minuano's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
