When Eusébio Matorin fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caatiba MZC's protests and gave Eusébio Matorin a yellow card for diving instead. João Augusto Quirino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benedito Domingues in the 17th minute of the match. If Eusébio Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Adrianinho Ortiz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but João Augusto Quirino was relentless in the 35th minute of the game.
