The referee showed Roberto Barbosa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Diamond Football Club booed when SRP-Laguna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto Barbosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Diamond Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Léo Bertassi came free, but João Carlos Simões reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, SRP-Laguna's Gerson Leão got control of the ball when Francisco Gaspar tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Diamond Football Club's Rafa Marques got a free kick in the 21st minute. The referee ignored Diamond Football Club's protests and gave Décio Motta a yellow card for diving instead. Francisco Gaspar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerson Leão having to interfere. The supporters of Diamond Football Club booed when SRP-Laguna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto Barbosa didn't get a good kick on the ball.
