In the 3rd minute, Gonçalo Cestarolli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nuno Laguna charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nuno Laguna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. William Proença received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Alex Laguna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Cestarolli FC booed when SRP-Laguna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romário Borges didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute, Ediberto Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to SRP-Laguna getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Romário Borges hit a great ball. Alex Laguna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luizão Hoffmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Flávio Montenegro hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. When Emerson Lira came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Cestarolli FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emerson Lira couldn't finish the play. In the 27th minute, Aírton Toledo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The throw-in from David Fernandez in the 30th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Cestarolli FC's Júlio Souza. After a rather tough play, SRP-Laguna's Romário Borges got a free kick in the 32nd minute. 36 minutes into the game, Cestarolli FC's Emerson Lira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alex Laguna made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pedrão Arce stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alex Laguna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emerson Lira, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Alex Laguna didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emerson Lira went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. 62 minutes in the game, Emerson Lira fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Alex Laguna having to interfere. Neno Cestarolli's late challenge caught a SRP-Laguna's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Neno Cestarolli helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Cestarolli FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Neno Cestarolli hit a great ball. Laércio de Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flávio Montenegro in the 68th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donato Arantes in the 70th minute of play forced Cestarolli FC's goalkeeper Laércio de Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emerson Lira in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alex Laguna prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 79th minute, Romário Borges hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luizão Hoffmann kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Ediberto Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laércio de Almeida having to interfere. After a rather tough play, SRP-Laguna's David Fernandez got a free kick in the 95th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Cestarolli FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
