Espigão Steamrollers's Emerson Leal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frédson Rosa in the 42nd minute of play. With 43 minutes on the clock, João Paulo Ribeiro commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. João Paulo Ribeiro hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute, Válter Dantas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Joaquim da Fonseca charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Renan Rosa missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 62 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Lauro Secco right hand side. In the 64th minute, Cristian Quirino reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Lauro Secco. The goal made the score 0-4. The supporters of Espigão Steamrollers booed when Papunhas EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nestor Rodrigues didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpected shot in the 75th minute by Cristian Quirino got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After having played for 87 minutes, Maurinho Prestes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Papunhas EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maurinho Prestes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Papunhas EC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 90th minute, when Válter Dantas scored to the left of an out of position Lauro Secco, making the score, 0-5. Espigão Steamrollers's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
