Artur Rezende received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Benedito Meira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Renatinho Braga in the 6th minute of play forced Atlético de Crisal's goalkeeper Benedito Meira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 11th minute, Francisco Garcia made a precise shot to the right of Benedito Meira. Atlético de Crisal's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 18th minute, Renatinho Braga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benedito Meira was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Benedito Meira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Renatinho Braga, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guga Nunes during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Atlético de Crisal's Guga Nunes got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 25th minute of the match Fernandinho Paes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benedito Meira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Olavo Vasconcelos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Igor Rocha in the 27th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Garcia in the 29th minute of play forced Atlético de Crisal's goalkeeper Benedito Meira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benedito Meira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renatinho Braga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Francisco Garcia hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. The supporters of Desportiva Paulo Afonso booed when Atlético de Crisal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sílvio de Amorim didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benedito Meira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Renatinho Braga's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Edmundo França received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Olavo Vasconcelos came out and tried to block the shot, but Edmundo França slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 44th minute. In the 47th match minute, Desportiva Paulo Afonso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anderson Tavares to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Desportiva Paulo Afonso were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mateus Barral to strike the kick off in the second half. Benedito Meira stood somewhat misplaced when Francisco Garcia came free in front of goal and shot 1-3 to the left of him in the 60 minute. After a rather tough play, Atlético de Crisal's Toninho Martins got a free kick in the 69th minute. Desportiva Paulo Afonso's Francisco Garcia was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 72nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Benedito Meira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Renatinho Braga in the 76th minute. Benedito Meira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Garcia in the 90th minute of play. Guga Nunes hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. In the 91st minute of the match Fernandinho Paes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benedito Meira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 94th minute, Renatinho Braga reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benedito Meira. The goal made the score 1-5. Desportiva Paulo Afonso played a much better game than Atlético de Crisal and deserved their victory. The Atlético de Crisal players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
