Marzagão's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Oscar Peres was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by César Rosa in the 14th minute of play forced Dragões Barbudos FC's goalkeeper Vicente Fantini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benê Favoretto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Pedro Luís Fernandez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 20 minutes, Neil Mar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Marzagão and the Dragões Barbudos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cleiton Paulista took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 33rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Vicente Fantini. Dragões Barbudos FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling César Rosa in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vicente Fantini prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marzagão's Válbson Fernandes got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benê Favoretto was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 44th minute. Dragões Barbudos FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that César Rosa couldn't finish the play. Marzagão's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
