Fala Sério FC's Dé Linares shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 3rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Caco Marques but with some difficulty. Celso Brito stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lúcio Leal's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. A collision led to Fala Sério FC getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Silvério de Queirós hit a great ball. Fala Sério FC's Celso Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lúcio Leal in the 8th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, New Miran FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mauro Meireles came free, but Caco Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 14 minutes into the game, Leopoldo Andrade was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. New Miran FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fala Sério FC the free kick. A collision led to New Miran FC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Leopoldo Andrade hit a great ball. 18 minutes into the match, Natã Corrêa notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Fala Sério FC's Celso Brito. Celso Brito was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Artur Mineiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 23 minutes into the match, Fala Sério FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lúcio Leal came free, but Celso Brito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Elano de Sousa fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fala Sério FC's protests and gave Elano de Sousa a yellow card for diving instead. After 24 played minutes Fala Sério FC got a freekick which was hit by Elano de Sousa. Caco Marques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elano de Sousa in the 28th minute of play. New Miran FC's Lúcio Leal got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Silvério de Queirós hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. After having played for 33 minutes, Lúcio Leal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New Miran FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lúcio Leal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Márcio Mendes fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored New Miran FC's protests and gave Márcio Mendes a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to New Miran FC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Márcio Mendes hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

57 minutes into the game, Lúcio Leal recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Celso Brito. Lúcio Leal showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. In the 63rdth minute of the game Lúcio Leal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fala Sério FC's Celso Brito was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Mauro Meireles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Natã Corrêa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Celso Brito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute, João Pedro do Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Fala Sério FC booed when New Miran FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jedaiah Tavares didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched New Miran FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
