With a little luck, Portuguesa's Giovani de Amaral got control of the ball when Edgard Leme tried to sneak it across the goal line. 24 minutes into the game, Betinho Severo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Portuguesa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Unidade Pinto Louco the free kick. The supporters of Unidade Pinto Louco booed when Portuguesa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Betinho Severo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee gave Betinho Severo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Portuguesa getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Betinho Severo hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Yuri de Queiroz during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Yuri de Queiroz kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. 48 minutes into the match, Portuguesa's goalkeeper Giovani de Amaral had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edgard Leme. After the first half Portuguesa were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

A nice corner shot did that Emanuel Dionísio got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Giovani de Amaral quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 93rd minute, Yuri de Queiroz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 95 minutes into the game, Charles Arantes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Portuguesa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Unidade Pinto Louco the free kick. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Portuguesa had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
