Durvalino Leite hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Rui Mandrak managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vivaldo Paraíba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edinho Simões in the 16th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Blumenau Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Percival Matorin came free, but Vivaldo Paraíba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 39 played minutes Blumenau Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Reynaldo Arantes. In the 40th minute, Rui Mandrak sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Blumenau Esporte Clube's Vivaldo Paraíba didn't even have to move.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Teodoro Bezerra to make the kick off. When Eriberto Melo fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Shark FC - FSCMZ's protests and gave Eriberto Melo a yellow card for diving instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Dinei de Amorim kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Vivaldo Paraíba. That made the score 1-2 in the 58 minute of play. If David Sharkin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Vivaldo Paraíba, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 63rd minute of the match, Claudinho de Toledo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Vivaldo Paraíba was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Teodoro Bezerra got free with Vivaldo Paraíba in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Glauco Velloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emerson Proença, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th minute Teodoro Bezerra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vivaldo Paraíba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Shark FC - FSCMZ's Glauco Velloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Délio Gerber in the 82nd minute of play. In the 84th minute, Shark FC - FSCMZ's Percival Matorin ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Vivaldo Paraíba. Vivaldo Paraíba yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Blumenau Esporte Clube's Vivaldo Paraíba proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Blumenau Esporte Clube from getting a goal against them. When the match was over Shark FC - FSCMZ could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Blumenau Esporte Clube throughout the match.
