Spectators: 151 (Terracing: 114, Seating: 34, VIP seats: 3) Inter de São Paulo's Celsinho Bittencourt started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, October 04's Ruy Lira got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 8th minute of the match Inter de São Paulo got a corner. October 04's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Celsinho Bittencourt ran over to the corner to take the kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Wesley Teles managed to get in a good position for a shot. October 04's supporters rose to their feet, but Wesley Teles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Percival Tavares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of October 04 booed when Inter de São Paulo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adalberto Macedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Narciso Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Marquez in the 25th minute of play. In the 26th match minute, October 04 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vágner de Azevedo to maneuver through the defense. Percival Tavares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wesley Teles went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Egídio Senna's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Percival Tavares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Narciso Guimarães was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Isaltino de Andrade showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 39 minute of play. Percival Tavares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wesley Teles, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Celsinho Bittencourt hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute of the match Cristóvão Brito sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Percival Tavares skillfully saved the ball. When October 04's Toni Ramos in the 47th minute got a chance for a shot 47th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Inter de São Paulo's goalie prevented a goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Wesley Teles made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wesley Teles got free with Percival Tavares in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Egídio Senna came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the October 04 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Egídio Senna couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Inter de São Paulo's zone, Egídio Senna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Percival Tavares came out of the goal and Egídio Senna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Egídio Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The October 04 fans' excitement grew in the 63rd match minute when October 04's Egídio Senna looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Miguel Marquez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Narciso Guimarães having to make a save. Narciso Guimarães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celsinho Bittencourt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 74th minute, Isaltino de Andrade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 81st minute Inter de São Paulo were awarded a corner. Celsinho Bittencourt went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Celsinho Bittencourt managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Wesley Teles's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Percival Tavares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. After having played for 87 minutes, Egídio Senna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. October 04's supporters crossed their fingers, but Egídio Senna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jonathan Carvalho's late challenge caught a October 04's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jonathan Carvalho helped the player get up and apologised. Jonathan Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Celsinho Bittencourt might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Narciso Guimarães. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Celsinho Bittencourt ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 96th minute Celsinho Bittencourt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Narciso Guimarães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The October 04 players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
