A collision led to Inter de São Paulo getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Osvaldo Tepedino hit a great ball. With a little luck, Inter de São Paulo's Sebastião Salles got control of the ball when Osmar Rosario tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luciano Tavares hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Osmar Rosario could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Sebastião Salles made a huge save. Osmar Rosario might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sebastião Salles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Osmar Rosario ran back to his position shaking his head. Inter de São Paulo's Sebastião Salles proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Inter de São Paulo from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Inter de São Paulo booed when ROSÁRIO SPORT was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcus Mesquita didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thiago Mineiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredinho Prado in the 30th minute of play. In the 34th minute Inter de São Paulo were awarded a corner. Marcus Mesquita's late challenge caught a Inter de São Paulo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcus Mesquita helped the player get up and apologised. Sebastião Salles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osmar Rosario, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fellipe Loyola took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sebastião Salles. Sebastião Salles dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Celsinho Bittencourt was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Osmar Rosario got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Inter de São Paulo's Sebastião Salles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osmar Rosario in the 59th minute of play. In the 63rd minute Osmar Rosario shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastião Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 93 played minutes ROSÁRIO SPORT got a freekick which was hit by Dida Catarinense. For all the effort they put into the match, the Inter de São Paulo players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for ROSÁRIO SPORT.
