The Bucéfalo FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Luís Montenegro should have stopped the shot. After having played for 11 minutes, Flavinho Braga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bucéfalo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Flavinho Braga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 35thth minute of the game Nico Godoi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Compugraf's Chico Fernandez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 38th minute Luiz Gustavo Fonseca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chico Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 40th minute of the match Bucéfalo FC got a corner. Compugraf's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Flavinho Braga ran over to the corner to take the kick. Bucéfalo FC's Luiz Gustavo Fonseca was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Chico Fernandez in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 42nd minute Mazinho Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chico Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Igor Ramos scored 5-0 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Luís Montenegro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Betinho Arce stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Frank Sergipano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Compugraf's supporters rose to their feet, but Igor Ramos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Luís Montenegro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
