The supporters of Carrossel Caipira booed when Várzea F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alessandro Mandrak didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulão Veiga got free with Serafim Mesquita in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Patrick Sena during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Patrick Sena hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. In the 23rd minute Marco Mangueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edinho da Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
