Spectators: 152 (Terracing: 114, Seating: 35, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Richard Ferreira started the match with the kick off. When Dudu Neiva fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nautilus's protests and gave Dudu Neiva a yellow card for diving instead. After 3 played minutes Nautilus got a freekick which was hit by Dudu Neiva. Olavo Carioca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil de Medeiros having to interfere. 7 minutes into the match, Poetass FC's goalkeeper Cássio de Senna had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Richard Ferreira. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Claudinho Saldanha in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gil de Medeiros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 12th minute, Dudu Neiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Claudinho Saldanha in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gil de Medeiros saved Nautilus from getting behind. The supporters of Nautilus booed when Poetass FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamim Guedes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Poetass FC's Claudinho Saldanha got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nautilus's Gil de Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinho Saldanha in the 28th minute of play. Dudu Neiva kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. If Noel Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cássio de Senna made an important save on a dangerous shot by Richard Ferreira in the 34th minute. After 35 played minutes Poetass FC got a freekick which was hit by Narciso Freire. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Claudinho Saldanha to make the kick off. In the 51st match minute, Poetass FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinho Saldanha to maneuver through the defense. In the 52nd minute, Dudu Neiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 53rd minute, Claudinho Saldanha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Claudinho Saldanha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cássio de Senna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelinho de Andrade in the 56th minute of the match. In the 63rd match minute, Nautilus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laerte Tasso to maneuver through the defense. Olavo Carioca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nautilus's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Poetass FC the free kick.
