Carlos Augusto Eger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matheus Paraíba, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 8 minutes, Carlos Augusto Eger successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Vascogoianiense FC's Anderson Valladares was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 9th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Belo Academy's Carlos Augusto Eger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anderson Valladares in the 13th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Matheus Paraíba managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vascogoianiense FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Matheus Paraíba was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Augusto Eger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rubens Félix in the 16th minute of play forced Vascogoianiense FC's goalkeeper Bernardo Corrêa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Belo Academy defense, Anderson Valladares kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlos Augusto Eger. The Belo Academy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlos Augusto Eger should have stopped the shot. Carlos Augusto Eger made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Waldemar Ortiz sent off a good shot on target. The corner led Vascogoianiense FC's Adhemar Lucas to fire away a dangerous shot which Carlos Augusto Eger despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Waldemar Ortiz received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Carlos Augusto Eger came out and tried to block the shot, but Waldemar Ortiz slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 36th minute. Bernardo Corrêa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geovanni Linhares in the 38th minute of the match. Bernardo Corrêa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafael Passos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Waldemar Ortiz got free with Carlos Augusto Eger in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With an all-out effort, Vascogoianiense FC's Carlos Augusto Eger threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Anderson Valladares, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Anderson Valladares was the one to do the kick off. Vascogoianiense FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
