In the 29th minute, União Verde FC's Laércio Damião ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rubinho Abreu. Rubinho Abreu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. In the 38th minute Benê Carioca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bebeto de Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ademir Guia in the 46th minute of play forced ADM Taquaras's goalkeeper Rubinho Abreu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Laércio Damião to make the kick off. In the 55th minute, Reinaldo Ferraz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, ADM Taquaras's Zé Madureira got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 61st minute, ADM Taquaras's Benê Carioca ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Bebeto de Salles. Bebeto de Salles yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Zé Madureira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bebeto de Salles having to make a save. 71 minutes into the match, União Verde FC's goalkeeper Bebeto de Salles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zé Madureira. In the 77th minute Benê Carioca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bebeto de Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Agnaldo Tinoco got a throw-in 80 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Gilvan Pombal. Zé Madureira charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zé Madureira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Zé Madureira kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. ADM Taquaras's Rubinho Abreu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ademir Guia in the 88th minute of play. João Vítor Bastos kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. If Zé Madureira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
