Nico Schmidt charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nico Schmidt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Corinthians booed when Braga Junior FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nico Schmidt didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fernandinho Urbano got free with Danilo Arruda in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Corinthians booed when Braga Junior FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kiko Neves didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 26 played minutes Braga Junior FC got a freekick which was hit by Artur Azevedo. Cássio Cardoso hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Cássio Soeiro came out of the goal and Artur Azevedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cássio Soeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kiko Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fernandinho Urbano was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Gonçalo Borges managed to get in a good position for a shot. Corinthians's supporters rose to their feet, but Gonçalo Borges was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Danilo Arruda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
