C.'s Marcelinho Matorin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernandinho Urbano in the 39th minute of play. In the 40th minute Fernandinho Urbano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelinho Matorin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Corinthians were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for João Francisco Mota to strike the kick off in the second half. Edmílson Matorin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. C.'s Marcelinho Matorin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 65 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mexilhão F. C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luís Fernando Guedes was slow to take the kick. During this time Corinthians's players had a chance to rest. Marcelinho Matorin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernandinho Urbano in the 68th minute of the match. Marcelinho Matorin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fernandinho Urbano's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Fernandinho Urbano put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Marcelinho Matorin. In the 79thth minute of the game Fernandinho Urbano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mexilhão F. C.'s Marcelinho Matorin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marcelinho Matorin came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Corinthians's Fernandinho Urbano. But to his dismay, Fernandinho Urbano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. The Mexilhão F. C. fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Corinthians were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
