A collision led to S.C. Corinthians Paulista getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Adalberto Veloso hit a great ball. Virgílio Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diego da Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 30th minute, Joélson de Andrade left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ique Football Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 33rd minute, João Francisco Domingues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 35th minute Aurélien Tchouaméni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fernando Figueiredo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th minute, Christiano Matos made a precise shot to the right of Luiz Fernando Figueiredo. S.C. Corinthians Paulista's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Matías de Moraes made a kick off. S.C. The Ique Football Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Virgílio Lima should have stopped the shot. After having played for 75 minutes, Armandinho de Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ique Football Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armandinho de Barros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luiz Fernando Figueiredo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabiano de Amaral in the 78th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christiano Matos in the 80th minute of play forced S.C. Corinthians Paulista's goalkeeper Luiz Fernando Figueiredo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luiz Fernando Figueiredo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Christiano Matos's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. With an all-out effort, Ique Football Club's Luiz Fernando Figueiredo threw himself towards the right post 87 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Edu de Godoi, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The Ique Football Club supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ique Football Club would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
