Mota 2017's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Eliseu Alagoano scored to the left of an out of position Gonçalo Guimarães, making the score, 2-0. Eliseu Alagoano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonçalo Guimarães having to interfere. Gonçalo Guimarães made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Sidnei Dionísio sent off a good shot on target. In the 30th minute Victor Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Vítor Guimarães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Wilson Matorin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 36 minutes into the match, Victor Montenegro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of João Vítor Guimarães. 卡納里尼奧 FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Victor Montenegro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 84th minute of the match Célio Meira shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but João Vítor Guimarães showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Elias Damasceno's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gonçalo Guimarães read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play.
