The referee ignored Three Lions FC's protests and gave Jeferson Pombal a yellow card for diving instead. 17 minutes into the match, Three Lions FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nando de Alcântara came free, but Dênis de Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dênis de Castro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the Catugi FC defense, Douglas Duarte kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sven-Edvin Skräddare. The Catugi FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sven-Edvin Skräddare should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Three Lions FC booed when Catugi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henrique Félix didn't get a good kick on the ball. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Douglas Duarte to strike the kick off in the second half. Falcão Paes was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 54 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Three Lions FC's Bernardo Leal got a free kick in the 80th minute. Three Lions FC's Dênis de Castro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artur Nunes in the 81st minute of play. Sven-Edvin Skräddare took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardo Leal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
