In the 5th minute, Armando Mota reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Aloísio Vargas. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 9thth minute of the game Ian Abreu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tamboril's Ismael Alves was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Tamboril's goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Chaves came free, but Ismael Alves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11th minute Ian Abreu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ismael Alves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ismael Alves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vicente Chaves in the 13th minute of play. Wilson Piazza's late challenge caught a Tamboril's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wilson Piazza helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Wilson Piazza got a free kick in the 15th minute. In the 17th minute of the match Tamboril got a corner. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ulisses Antunes ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Adrianinho Camargo fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tamboril's protests and gave Adrianinho Camargo a yellow card for diving instead. After 18 played minutes Tamboril got a freekick which was hit by Adrianinho Camargo. After having played for 19 minutes, Ian Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ian Abreu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 21st match minute, Tamboril was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulisses Antunes to maneuver through the defense. 24 minutes into the match, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Aloísio Vargas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rupert McClure. Vicente Chaves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Ismael Alves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 29 minutes into the match, Tamboril's goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Chaves came free, but Ismael Alves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ismael Alves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerardo Ibar in the 35th minute of the match. In the 47th match minute, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Naldo Guedes to maneuver through the defense. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube made a substitution. Perivaldo Valle replaced Ian Abreu. Naldo Guedes kicked well hit freekick during the 49th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Perivaldo Valle to make the kick off. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Adelino Simão in the 61st minute. Gerardo Ibar was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 66th minute, one of Tamboril:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Tamboril. The excitement rose when Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Adelino Simão after 68 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Tamboril's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ulisses Antunes during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Tamboril's Ulisses Antunes got a free kick in the 73rd minute. 76 minutes into the match, Tamboril's goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Chaves came free, but Ismael Alves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
