Taquaritinga's goal looked a bit too open when Gerardo Ibar came free, but Germano Brasil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute, Vicente Chaves fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The supporters of Cruzeiro Esporte Clube booed when Clube Atl. Taquaritinga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tião da Mata didn't get a good kick on the ball. Neto Chevillot struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Aloísio Vargas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mathías Queraria to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Vicente Chaves made a precise shot to the right of Germano Brasil. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. The referee felt a red card was in order, 59 minutes into the game, when Arif Buğra Özilhan put in a rough tackle. After 59 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Clube Atl. Taquaritinga! Germano Brasil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dagoberto Vieira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 65 minutes into the match, Perivaldo Valle had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Germano Brasil. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Perivaldo Valle was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Renatinho Linhares was substituted for Vicente Chaves. Gerardo Ibar took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Germano Brasil. Germano Brasil dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Tarcisio Goiano was substituted for Naldo Guedes. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gerardo Ibar in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Germano Brasil saved Clube Atl. Taquaritinga from getting behind. 79 minutes into the match, Dennys Gøl had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aloísio Vargas. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dennys Gøl was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. Perivaldo Valle took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Germano Brasil. Germano Brasil dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. Germano Brasil showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Perivaldo Valle, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Germano Brasil came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Renatinho Linhares. But to his dismay, Renatinho Linhares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. After having played for 90 minutes, Perivaldo Valle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Perivaldo Valle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Flavinho Braga kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Aloísio Medeiros got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Peterson Pancho hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. In the 98th minute Gerardo Ibar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Germano Brasil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube fully deserved thier win.
