An unexpectedly hard shot by Anderson de Sousa in the 28th minute of play forced Estrela Solitária's goalkeeper Milosz Kluska to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anderson de Sousa took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Milosz Kluska. Milosz Kluska dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruud Gullit in the 31st minute of play forced Grêmio 20 Julho's goalkeeper João Augusto Branco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emerson de Azevedo lost his temper 35 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 34 minutes into the game, one of Grêmio 20 Julho:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Milosz Kluska showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Murillo Meira, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Murillo Meira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grêmio 20 Julho's supporters rose to their feet, but Murillo Meira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Milosz Kluska breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Oséas Souto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Téo de Castro to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Grêmio 20 Julho got a freekick which was hit by José Saraiva. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruud Gullit in the 57th minute of play forced Grêmio 20 Julho's goalkeeper João Augusto Branco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Grêmio 20 Julho booed when Estrela Solitária was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Téo de Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 61st minute, Cícero Abreu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. João Adolfo de Andrade struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. After 76 played minutes Grêmio 20 Julho got a freekick which was hit by Gualter Albuquerque. After a rather tough play, Grêmio 20 Julho's Anderson de Sousa got a free kick in the 79th minute. João Augusto Branco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Meng Ran, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Milosz Kluska made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oséas Souto in the 82nd minute of play. When Enio Ortiz fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Estrela Solitária's protests and gave Enio Ortiz a yellow card for diving instead. In the 83rd match minute, Estrela Solitária was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enio Ortiz to maneuver through the defense. In the 91st minute, Estrela Solitária's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Anderson de Sousa fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Estrela Solitária had won after a very even match.
