With an all-out effort, Talento Futebol clube's Patrick Miranda threw himself towards the right post 3 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Saul Francho, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Edson Mendes hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Patrick Miranda made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Per-Arne Delin sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zhu Zhen Ran got free with Patrick Miranda in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Olivedos's Pedrinho Prata got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 17th minute of the match Fraco Zago shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Patrick Miranda showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Talento Futebol clube's Saul Francho in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The supporters of Talento Futebol clube booed when Olivedos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antônio Carlos Valadares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patrick Miranda was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Raimundo Reis. 27 minutes into the match, Olivedos's Edson Mendes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that José Maria Souza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Carlinhos Velasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Patrick Miranda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Per-Arne Delin in the 34th minute of the match. If Per-Arne Delin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After having played for 52 minutes, Saul Francho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Talento Futebol clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Saul Francho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Viktor Lindelof hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. The referee ignored Olivedos's protests and gave Edson Mendes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 90th minute, Talento Futebol clube's Francois Custermans seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Francois Custermans the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Talento Futebol clube protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Francois Custermans had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. A collision led to Talento Futebol clube getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Francois Custermans hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Albertinho Cavalcante managed to get in a good position for a shot. Olivedos's supporters rose to their feet, but Albertinho Cavalcante was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Maria Souza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
