The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Rafael Hoffmann got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hermínio Prestes during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Jacuitiba - FSCMZ booed when Se7e was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hermínio Prestes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Claudinho Medeiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lino Andrade in the 10th minute of the match. Walmyr Torres charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Walmyr Torres the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Se7e booed when Jacuitiba - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walmyr Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Renan Quirino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Romário Souto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Jacuitiba - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Claudinho Medeiros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guri Maroto. Romário Souto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Renan Quirino, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Se7e's zone, Renan Quirino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Romário Souto came out of the goal and Renan Quirino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Renan Quirino in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Romário Souto saved Se7e from getting behind. 28 minutes into the match, Jacuitiba - FSCMZ's Renan Quirino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Romário Souto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Romário Souto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Renan Quirino's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. The supporters of Se7e booed when Jacuitiba - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Renan Quirino didn't get a good kick on the ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Renan Quirino to make the kick off. After 50 played minutes Se7e got a freekick which was hit by Benedito das Neves. Jacuitiba - FSCMZ's Gilberto Chaves quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Benedito das Neves, made in the 53rd minute of the game. 58 minutes into the match, Gilberto Chaves sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Romário Souto threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Gilberto Chaves this time. An unexpectedly hard shot by Renan Quirino in the 59th minute of play forced Se7e's goalkeeper Romário Souto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Claudinho Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lino Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 65th match minute, Jacuitiba - FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reinaldo Toledo to maneuver through the defense. Renan Quirino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Se7e's Romário Souto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renan Quirino in the 90th minute of play. After 92 played minutes Jacuitiba - FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Reinaldo Toledo. The Jacuitiba - FSCMZ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Jacuitiba - FSCMZ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
