The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Palmeiras's Artur Fonelleda got a free kick in the 4th minute. If Tião Tróia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tião Tróia in the 9th minute of play forced Landulfos FC's goalkeeper Diogo Ferraz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Augusto Recife made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ali Kürşat Uma in the 10th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Landulfos FC's Ali Kürşat Uma slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Carlos Augusto Recife. That made the score 1-0 after 10 minutes of play. Jonas Torres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 16 minutes into the match, Palmeiras's goalkeeper Carlos Augusto Recife had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sergio Martins. Carlos Augusto Recife made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Sergio Martins sent off a good shot on target. Palmeiras's Carlos Augusto Recife proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Palmeiras from getting a goal against them. Sergio Martins could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Carlos Augusto Recife made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nicolas Cunha in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Augusto Recife saved Palmeiras from getting behind. Sergio Martins who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Carlos Augusto Recife when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Caio Boldrini succeeded in the game's 32nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. Diogo Ferraz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amadeo Tuste, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. In the 37th minute Amadeo Tuste shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diogo Ferraz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 41 minutes into the game, Ali Kürşat Uma cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Carlos Augusto Recife was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 44th minute Arlindo Vargas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Augusto Recife saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Amadeo Tuste stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Diogo Ferraz made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Caio Boldrini sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Landulfos FC booed when Palmeiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonas Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Palmeiras's Toninho Prestes was substituted for Dagoberto Moura. Palmeiras made a substitution. Rodriguinho Carneiro replaced Artur Fonelleda. Carlos Augusto Recife made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergio Martins in the 58th minute of play. When Durvalino de Lima fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Landulfos FC's protests and gave Durvalino de Lima a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Palmeiras booed when Landulfos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Durvalino de Lima didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Palmeiras's Amadeo Tuste in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A collision led to Palmeiras getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Caio Boldrini hit a great ball. The Landulfos FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
