The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the game, Carlos Augusto da Fonseca cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Rodolfo Siqueira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of A A Arizona booed when Anderbye FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osvaldinho Gaúcho didn't get a good kick on the ball. 9 minutes into the game, A A Arizona's Mazinho Godoi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nilton Alcântara made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 12 minutes into the match, Valério Paranaense had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nilton Alcântara. Anderbye FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Valério Paranaense was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Valério Paranaense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nilton Alcântara came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by A A Arizona's Valério Paranaense. But to his dismay, Valério Paranaense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. 20 minutes into the game, A A Arizona's Valério Paranaense nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nilton Alcântara made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Mazinho Godoi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 27 minutes into the match, Anderbye FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mazinho Godoi came free, but Nilton Alcântara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedro Luís Bertassi hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valério Paranaense in the 42nd minute of play forced Anderbye FC's goalkeeper Nilton Alcântara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edmílson Carvalho hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Valério Paranaense struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Nilton Alcântara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for A A Arizona. The Anderbye FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. A A Arizona were winning 1-5.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valério Paranaense to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Mazinho Godoi recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nilton Alcântara. Mazinho Godoi showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-6. If Rony Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valério Paranaense scored 1-7 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nilton Alcântara, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Valério Paranaense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilton Alcântara having to interfere. If Valério Paranaense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valério Paranaense in the 69thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Nilton Alcântara, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Valério Paranaense managed to get in a good position for a shot. A A Arizona's supporters rose to their feet, but Valério Paranaense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nilton Alcântara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luís Fabiano Branco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Nilton Alcântara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valério Paranaense in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nilton Alcântara prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Pedro Luís Bertassi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Valério Paranaense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
