In the 6th minute of the match, Allen Obando got a very nice opportunity to score, but Edvaldo Leal was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 40th match minute, New Joinville - FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angelo Osasun to maneuver through the defense. New Joinville - FSCMZ's Gustavo Gustavson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maicon Oliveira in the 42nd minute of play. New Joinville - FSCMZ were furious when Siro Javiero was red carded, 46 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 46th minute, one of New Joinville - FSCMZ:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for New Joinville - FSCMZ. The referee gave SORRISO E. C. a penalty, 48 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Alfredinho Freitas, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of New Joinville - FSCMZ's Gustavo Gustavson. 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Maicon Oliveira to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Maicon Oliveira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Gustavo Gustavson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maicon Oliveira in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gustavo Gustavson saved New Joinville - FSCMZ from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfredinho Freitas got free with Gustavo Gustavson in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gustavo Gustavson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maicon Oliveira in the 64th minute of the match. New Joinville - FSCMZ's Lucas Sjödin was substituted for Allen Obando. New Joinville - FSCMZ made a substitution. Ateş Direnç replaced Angelo Osasun. In the 89th minute Maicon Oliveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Gustavson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner ended in Cyryl Lemiesz almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but New Joinville - FSCMZ's Gustavo Gustavson did a great save. A collision led to New Joinville - FSCMZ getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Marquinhos Jacinto hit a great ball. In the 94th minute, Gustavo-Hernán Cadelo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 97 minutes into the game, Marquinhos Jacinto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. New Joinville - FSCMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SORRISO E. C. the free kick. After a rather tough play, New Joinville - FSCMZ's Marquinhos Jacinto got a free kick in the 97th minute. When the match was over SORRISO E. C. could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than New Joinville - FSCMZ throughout the match.
