Sven-Olof Blomqvist ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Classe A Futebol Clube's zone, Eliézer da Silveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Doriva Simão came out of the goal and Eliézer da Silveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mohamed Salah in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedrinho Guimarães saved Castanheiro SC from getting behind. Doriva Simão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonardo Trancoso in the 22nd minute of play. Eliézer da Silveiras short, quick shot in the 24thth minute got Doriva Simão to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 28th minute Sven-Olof Blomqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedrinho Guimarães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
