The audience thought a goal was coming when Ladislao Ruisko got free with Eustacio Iratzeder in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 4 minutes PauoL & The Queen's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Higinio Machado who took care of the corner kick. 5 minutes into the game, PauoL & The Queen's Patricio Txema nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nicolas Sandaili made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ulises Sandaili in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eustacio Iratzeder saved PauoL & The Queen from getting behind. Celestino Elorri kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Maximino Navarro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Eustacio Iratzeder. That made the score 1-1 in the 11 minute of play. 13 minutes into the game, Ulises Sandaili was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vélez Juniors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PauoL & The Queen the free kick. Ulises Sandaili kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Eustacio Iratzeder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emilio Serafo in the 18th minute of the match. Eustacio Iratzeder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulises Sandaili, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Patricio Txema charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patricio Txema the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Vélez Juniors booed when PauoL & The Queen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Txema didn't get a good kick on the ball. 40 minutes into the match, PauoL & The Queen's goalkeeper Eustacio Iratzeder had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Maximino Navarro. Nicolas Sandaili made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Txema in the 41st minute of play. In the 43rd minute of the match, Ulises Sandaili tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Eustacio Iratzeder saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 45 minutes into the match, Maximino Navarro dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Eustacio Iratzeder, 2-1.
Vélez Juniors's Nicolas Sandaili played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adan Abastas in the 52nd minute of play. With 54 minutes on the clock, Celestino Elorri commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 53rd minute, one of PauoL & The Queen:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for PauoL & The Queen. 58 minutes into the match, PauoL & The Queen's goal looked a bit too open when Emilio Serafo came free, but Eustacio Iratzeder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eustacio Iratzeder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximino Navarro in the 60th minute of the match. Nicolas Sandaili took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Rencio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Higinio Machado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eustacio Iratzeder read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 98th minute of play. Vélez Juniors's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
