The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Diadema's Diego Xabel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joachim Gregersson in the 4th minute of play. Diego Xabel came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Peñaloza's Leonel Rayman. But to his dismay, Leonel Rayman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Zacarias Eron's late challenge caught a Diadema's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zacarias Eron helped the player get up and apologised. In the 12th match minute, Peñaloza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zacarias Eron to maneuver through the defense. Diego Xabel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonel Rayman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joachim Gregersson in the 30th minute of play forced Diadema's goalkeeper Diego Xabel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joachim Gregersson in the 40th minute of play forced Diadema's goalkeeper Diego Xabel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diego Xabel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Blasi, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Diadema's Diego Xabel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joachim Gregersson in the 42nd minute of play. Gunnvaldur Ásbergsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severo Sidoro in the 44th minute of play. The Diadema players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Peñaloza were winning 0-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Severo Sidoro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernabe Garaile got free with Diego Xabel in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 53 minutes into the game, Peñaloza's Leonel Rayman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Diego Xabel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. Bernabe Garaile's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Diego Xabel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Bernabe Garaile took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for Diego Xabel to make any attempt to save it. Julian Blasi hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. In the 63rd minute, one of Peñaloza:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Peñaloza. Peñaloza:s Gunnvaldur Ásbergsson showed great skill when he stopped Amador Gomez:s penalty. 65 minutes into the match, Amador Gomez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gunnvaldur Ásbergsson. Peñaloza's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Amador Gomez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-6. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonel Rayman in the 74th minute of play forced Diadema's goalkeeper Diego Xabel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Peñaloza's goalkeeper Gunnvaldur Ásbergsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Severo Sidoro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Diadema's supporters rose to their feet, but Severo Sidoro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gunnvaldur Ásbergsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Diadema's Diego Xabel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joachim Gregersson in the 78th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Arturo Calvet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joachim Gregersson scored 1-7 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Diego Xabel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Joachim Gregersson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Diego Xabel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leonel Rayman went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-8 was the resulting score. Bernabe Garaile fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Xabel having to interfere. When the match was over Peñaloza could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Diadema throughout the match.
