After a rather tough play, Chovet's Fidel Shantala got a free kick in the 4th minute. Club Sportivo Quilmes's Vinicio Acuña got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vinicio Acuña in the 7th minute of play forced Chovet's goalkeeper Elvio Galo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elvio Galo came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Sportivo Quilmes's Horacio Nisio. But to his dismay, Horacio Nisio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After some careless play in the Chovet defense, Horacio Nisio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elvio Galo. The Chovet fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elvio Galo should have stopped the shot. Elvio Galo came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Club Sportivo Quilmes's Horacio Nisio. But to his dismay, Horacio Nisio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Elvio Galo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horacio Nisio, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Chovet's Elvio Galo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Valente in the 27th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Herminio Abecia made a kick off. When Vinicio Acuña came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Club Sportivo Quilmes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vinicio Acuña couldn't finish the play. Horacio Nisio came free with the goalkeeper in the 55th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Elvio Galo could save by the left post. After a rather tough play, Chovet's Inocencio Abaunza got a free kick in the 56th minute. In the 57th minute, Horacio Nisio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Elvio Galo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulises Fidele, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elvio Galo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Horacio Nisio went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. Elvio Galo made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Horacio Nisio sent off a good shot on target. Elvio Galo stood somewhat misplaced when Ulises Fidele came free in front of goal and shot 0-7 to the left of him in the 71 minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ulises Fidele in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elvio Galo saved Chovet from getting behind. Horacio Nisio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Elvio Galo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Valente, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 81st minute, Herminio Jusepe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elvio Galo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horacio Nisio in the 82nd minute of play. Horacio Nisio scored 0-8 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Elvio Galo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 87th minute Emanuel Valente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elvio Galo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elvio Galo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiburcio Basajaun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Horacio Nisio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Elvio Galo was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. Club Sportivo Quilmes's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
