The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Hortensia FCG's Arnulfo Hulberto got a free kick in the 5th minute. Fernando Cefero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arnulfo Hulberto in the 9th minute. The referee ignored Hortensia FCG's protests and gave Isidoro Tercero a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Hortensia FCG getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Isidoro Tercero hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aldo Ekain stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arnulfo Hulberto in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fernando Cefero saved Chacarita Jrs from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Arnulfo Hulberto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fernando Cefero was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. Fernando Cefero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnulfo Hulberto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 65th minute Arnulfo Hulberto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Cefero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fernando Cefero stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Esteban Raebert's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. After 82 minutes Chacarita Jrs's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Esteban Raebert who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Esteban Raebert got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Fernando Cefero quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Humberto Mattin's late challenge caught a Hortensia FCG's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Humberto Mattin helped the player get up and apologised. In the 85th minute, Humberto Mattin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Esteban Raebert came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Hortensia FCG fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Esteban Raebert couldn't finish the play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Chacarita Jrs players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Hortensia FCG.
