Rosario Central's Luis Mannie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Abreu in the 6th minute of play. After 10 played minutes Rosario Central got a freekick which was hit by Arnulfo Abaurre. Sebastian Abreu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luis Mannie read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Luis Mannie came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Argentinos Juniors's Sebastian Abreu. But to his dismay, Sebastian Abreu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After having played for 17 minutes, Sebastian Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Argentinos Juniors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sebastian Abreu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match clock showed 19 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Gavino Roldan sped through Rosario Central's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Luis Mannie. Luis Mannie stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sebastian Abreu's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Sebastian Abreu put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Luis Mannie. Agustin Matro made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Erubiel Tohias sent off a good shot on target. In the 26th minute, one of Rosario Central:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rosario Central. In the 34th minute, Luciano Presebal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rosario Central's Luis Mannie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Abreu in the 43rd minute of play. After the first half Argentinos Juniors were leading 1-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sebastian Abreu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luis Mannie made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Dalmacio Esdras sent off a good shot on target. Sebastian Abreu might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luis Mannie. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sebastian Abreu ran back to his position shaking his head. Dalmacio Esdras who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 64thth minute tested the skills of Luis Mannie when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a little luck, Rosario Central's Luis Mannie got control of the ball when Hipolito Mero tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 69th minute of the match, Sebastian Abreu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Luis Mannie saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Agustin Matro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luis Mannie didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Argentinos Juniors's Dalmacio Esdras shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-7 in the ordered_time% minute. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Sebastian Abreu put it in 2-8 from a short distance just to the right of Luis Mannie. Agustin Matro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erubiel Tohias in the 97th minute of play. The Rosario Central supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Argentinos Juniors's performance. The match ended with a win for Argentinos Juniors.
