La Panchera's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Florencio Lixandro ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Casimiro Firmin in the 29th minute of play forced La Panchera's goalkeeper Santo Dimo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Santo Dimo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Casimiro Firmin's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. The audience was convinced that Fabricio Flores's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Santo Dimo was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benedicto Oskitz in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
