Spectators: 153 (Terracing: 115, Seating: 35, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Aldo Felipillo started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd minute Celedonio Kinsen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogelio Goyo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aldo Felipillo in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Desiderio Frederik prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Aldo Felipillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Desiderio Frederik made a huge save. A collision led to Sporting de Gijón getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Ruslan Rudchenko hit a great ball. After 12 played minutes Sporting de Gijón got a freekick which was hit by Amadeo Panpili. Maximiliano Remir kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. In the 20th minute Amadeo Panpili shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogelio Goyo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24th minute, Blas-Armando Giunta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Patricio Rey Futbol Club's Rogelio Goyo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Blas-Armando Giunta in the 26th minute of play. Rogelio Goyo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amadeo Panpili in the 28th minute of the match. In the 31st minute Blas-Armando Giunta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogelio Goyo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Desiderio Frederik had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aldo Felipillo. Patricio Rey Futbol Club's Rogelio Goyo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Blas-Armando Giunta in the 33rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celedonio Kinsen in the 37th minute of play forced Patricio Rey Futbol Club's goalkeeper Rogelio Goyo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Blas-Armando Giunta made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Aldo Felipillo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Patricio Rey Futbol Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Cesare Prisco charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cesare Prisco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 60th match minute, Patricio Rey Futbol Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cesare Prisco to maneuver through the defense. Sporting de Gijón's Blas-Armando Giunta couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 61st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Patricio Rey Futbol Club. Desiderio Frederik came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Patricio Rey Futbol Club's Silvano Salvadore. But to his dismay, Silvano Salvadore quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Sporting de Gijón's Arnoldo Ubarna was substituted for Amadeo Panpili. Sporting de Gijón's Gustavo Quintin was substituted for Eloy Timo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roberto Txaran in the 75th minute of play forced Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Desiderio Frederik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Aldo Felipillo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Desiderio Frederik. Sporting de Gijón's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aldo Felipillo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Ezequiel Fernández kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. In the 84th minute, Eulalio Soter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Denis Gabon came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Patricio Rey Futbol Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Denis Gabon couldn't finish the play. Arnoldo Ubarna hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. In the 88th minute of the match Nicolas Eguntsenti sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Desiderio Frederik skillfully saved the ball. 92 minutes into the game, Patricio Rey Futbol Club's Aldo Felipillo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Desiderio Frederik made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. In the 96th minute of the match, Arnoldo Ubarna tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rogelio Goyo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Sporting de Gijón's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
