After 5 minutes, Marcelino Afonso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the RIVER and the Club Atletico Fenix players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 6th match minute, RIVER was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelino Afonso to maneuver through the defense. Fabio Herauso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Uriel Txordon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the RIVER defense, Damian Quintun kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Anibal Otsoko. The RIVER fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Anibal Otsoko should have stopped the shot. After 21 played minutes Club Atletico Fenix got a freekick which was hit by Cosme Elizardo. 21 minutes into the match, Club Atletico Fenix's goal looked a bit too open when Samuel Lertxun came free, but Fabio Herauso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Club Atletico Fenix's goalkeeper Fabio Herauso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ismael Medina Bello. In the 29th minute there was a penalty for Club Atletico Fenix. Eriberto George stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Anibal Otsoko. 0-2. When Uriel Txordon came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the RIVER fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Uriel Txordon couldn't finish the play. In the 35th match minute, RIVER was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basilio Pere to maneuver through the defense. Anibal Otsoko didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Damian Quintun went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 41st minute, Eriberto George hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Uriel Txordon made a kick off. Club Atletico Fenix's Fabio Herauso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Uriel Txordon in the 51st minute of play. The supporters of RIVER booed when Club Atletico Fenix was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Bernabel didn't get a good kick on the ball. 57 minutes into the match, Club Atletico Fenix's goal looked a bit too open when Teodoro Inge came free, but Fabio Herauso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Uriel Txordon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, RIVER's Marcelino Afonso got a free kick in the 73rd minute. When Damian Hitz fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atletico Fenix's protests and gave Damian Hitz a yellow card for diving instead. In the 91stth minute of the game Uriel Txordon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Atletico Fenix's Fabio Herauso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Maximiliano Rey charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Maximiliano Rey the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 92nd minute, one of RIVER:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for RIVER. Anibal Otsoko had in the 95thth minute some difficulties stopping Eriberto George's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Club Atletico Fenix's goal looked a bit too open when Uriel Txordon came free, but Fabio Herauso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ivan Poncio kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match.
