After 4 played minutes Chelsea Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Baldomiro Sabino. Emanuel Carletti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicanor Gaufred, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Emanuel Carletti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicanor Gaufred, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Chelsea Football Club getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Baldomiro Sabino hit a great ball. In the 12th minute, Angelino Bidun ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Enrique Lekubegi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Palermo's Enrique Lekubegi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angelino Bidun in the 20th minute of play. Enrique Lekubegi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baldomiro Sabino, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Enrique Lekubegi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivan Txeru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emanuel Carletti made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Donato Vachon sent off a good shot on target. In the 35th minute of the match, Donato Vachon got a very nice opportunity to score, but Emanuel Carletti was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Enrique Lekubegi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angelino Bidun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ivan Txeru kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Angelino Bidun scored 0-2 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Enrique Lekubegi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half Chelsea Football Club were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ivan Txeru was the one to do the kick off. 56 minutes into the game, Nicanor Gaufred was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palermo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chelsea Football Club the free kick. The supporters of Chelsea Football Club booed when Palermo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicanor Gaufred didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Palermo getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Lisandro Argi hit a great ball. Palermo's Enrique Lekubegi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Palermo from getting a goal against them. In the 59th minute, Baldomiro Eutor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Enrique Lekubegi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Txeru in the 60th minute of the match. Ivan Txeru kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Nicanor Gaufred hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. With 70 minutes on the clock, Alvaro Ermano commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 69 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Palermo! 74 minutes into the game, Chelsea Football Club's Baldomiro Sabino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Enrique Lekubegi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Aquilino Basualdo hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, Chelsea Football Club's Enrique Lekubegi threw himself towards the right post 84 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ivan Txeru, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 85 played minutes Palermo got a freekick which was hit by Baldomiro Eutor. After having played for 86 minutes, Ivan Txeru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chelsea Football Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivan Txeru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ivan Txeru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Lekubegi having to interfere. Chelsea Football Club's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
