Prospero Valente took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruno Maraman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 11 minutes into the match, Sportivo Ben Hur's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Quirze came free, but Ovidio Maureo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabio Ferdinand charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fabio Ferdinand the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Sportivo Ben Hur's Fabio Ferdinand got a free kick in the 11th minute. Ovidio Maureo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Quirze in the 17th minute of play. The Lyons fans' excitement grew in the 24th match minute when Lyons's Marco Quirze looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Desiderio Tancredo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Prospero Valente made a huge save. In the 38th minute, Marco Quirze ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ovidio Maureo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Ovidio Maureo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Quirze, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. When Lyons's Marco Quirze in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Ovidio Maureo came out of the goal and Rene Pelagius tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Marco Quirze put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Ovidio Maureo. The referee felt a red card was in order, 61 minutes into the game, when Clodoveo Llanos put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 61st minute of the game. One of Lyons:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sportivo Ben Hur:s goal. The referee gave Sportivo Ben Hur a penalty, 64 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Desiderio Tancredo, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Lyons's Prospero Valente. 1-4. 68 minutes into the match, Sportivo Ben Hur's goalkeeper Ovidio Maureo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Severino Iruinea. Ovidio Maureo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rene Pelagius, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. In the 76thth minute of the game Bruno Maraman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lyons's Prospero Valente was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fabio Ferdinand kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Apolo Ruy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 92nd minute Bruno Maraman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Prospero Valente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ovidio Maureo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rene Pelagius, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. 93 minutes into the game, Lyons's Rene Pelagius nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ovidio Maureo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-5. Sportivo Ben Hur's Celso Incendio suffered a concussion after 96 minutes and had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Victoriano Ferran during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sportivo Ben Hur's Silvestre Dacio was substituted for Celso Incendio. Victoriano Ferran hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. The supporters of Lyons booed when Sportivo Ben Hur was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Maraman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lyons played a much better game than Sportivo Ben Hur and deserved their victory. The Sportivo Ben Hur players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
