Union Madereros fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Róbert Szepesvári made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hermengildo Bertol in the 52nd minute. Gavino Orlan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ismael Ourente in the 57th minute of play. Gustavo Salamon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Róbert Szepesvári having to interfere. When Lisandro Tomi fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick.
