Independiente's Christian Muc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arsenio Eudoxio in the 5th minute of play. The supporters of Defensores de Lombroso booed when Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teobaldo Casomiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aldo Iruinea in the 8th minute of play forced Defensores de Lombroso's goalkeeper Celso Janpier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celso Janpier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aldo Iruinea, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Independiente's Christian Muc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramiro Cidro in the 14th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Arturo Jesco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Independiente's supporters rose to their feet, but Arturo Jesco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celso Janpier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 18 minutes into the match, Defensores de Lombroso's goal looked a bit too open when Tomás Cordaryal came free, but Celso Janpier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Celso Janpier was a little too slow when Feliciano Jaunti got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 88th minute. The score was now 0-2. The Independiente supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Independiente would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
